The polish of stone surface is one important standard to evaluate the stone quality, polish degree high or low depend on the refraction of the mineral, also relevant to stone surface’s micro-structure.

      The same granite the content of mineral is the same, the surface more smooth, the polish degree is higher, the stone surface micro-structure is decided by the polish processing quality. Therefore, when we see the surface, even they are polish like mirror, but actually if look through high degree microscope, you will find the surface still rough and not even, and furthermore sometimes exist big defect.

      From the microscope, some pit and striation could be seen, these pit and striation caused by the polish processing.

      To observe these tiny defect, must be very careful, and need some skill, put the stone surface before the light or sunlight, observe the glisten surface, then the pit and striation could be seen clearly.  if the pit and striation are caused by poor processing, try best not to purchase this kind of stone.
